Vale da Capucha wines are grown on the Lisbon coast, 8 kms from the Atlantic ocean. The vineyards are planted on kimmeridgian limestone/clay and composed of indigenous varieties; Arinto, Fernao Pires, Alvarinho and Gouveio and in reds Touriga Nacional and Aragonez. Organic viticulture and natural winemaking assure bright energised wines. Winemaker and owner Pedro Marques is considered to be one of Portugal’s avant garde and has regualarly been feted for his terroir-driven textural wines.
